Standup Paddleboard Races in Zamami & Golden Week Reservations

Zamami Village’s first standup paddleboard (SUP) competition will be held on the fourth weekend in April from the 22-23.  The “Kerama Blue Cup in Zamami” is open to SUP fans of all levels from elite professional athletes to complete beginners.  A series of races will be held over the course of two days and will serve as a venue for SUP fans to test their abilities.  The occasion is also part of a larger effort to demonstrate Zamami Village’s potential as a training site for the next generation of top standup paddleboard athletes.

The races will span a variety of distances from those aimed at professionals to those friendly for amateurs.  The longest of the open races is 6km while there are also 3km and 1.5km races on the schedule.  Those interested in participating can find information at the Kerama Blue Cup in Zamami Facebook page or by contacting the organizing committee via the details below:

April boasts some of the most comfortable weather of the year in Zamami, and visitors to the islands during the event would have the added benefit of exciting races and festivities.

Golden Week is less than two months away.  The Zamami Times recommends that those who would like to visit the village anytime from the end of April through the first week of May make reservations as soon as possible.  Reservations for seats aboard Zamami Village’s ferries can be made online at the links below or by calling the village’s ticket office in Naha’s Tomari Port at the following phone number.

Reservations for accommodations and activities can be made by directly contacting such establishments.  The Zamami Tourist Information website provides comprehensive lists of shops and places to stay.
