There is currently a typhoon in the Pacific. While the typhoon may or may not be a direct hit on Zamami, there is a high possibility that ferry schedules will be altered and ferries cancelled. Please fully inform yourself of the situation before coming to Zamami. Please consult with your accommodations as to the best course of action in the face of an approaching typhoon.

A Note About Ferry Cancellations:
A typhoon brings with it strong winds. Strong winds create high waves. When the waves are high, the sea is dangerous. When the waves become too high, ferries are cancelled. A typhoon does not have to be particularly close to Zamami for the waves to become high and for the ferries to be cancelled.
Furthermore, when it seems like the ferries will be cancelled, many people change their tickets to return before the ferries stop. As a result, the ferries become booked full even before they have stopped running. In effect, visitors may not be able to leave Zamami even though the ferries are running.
Once again, please fully inform yourself of the situation before coming to Zamami. Consult with your accommodations on the island for the best course of action.
