Watch out for the wild goats on Zamami Island!
Lacking the fame of their celebrity counterparts on Aka Island (the Kerama-jika Deer), the wild goats on Zamami fly under the radar. We recently snagged a few shots of some goats on Zamami Island. There were seven goats grazing on the side of the road as we drove by. There were two males (with horns and all), a few females, and a few baby goats.
Zamami is certainly not the only island with goats. While riding the ferry to and from the village, goats can occasionally be seen hanging out on the steep crags of the uninhabited islands. See if you can spot a few the next time you travel to Zamami.
